Freedom Unchained: A Baby Boomer's Handbook for Navigating the Challenges of Our Time
A Serious Call to Action and Faith for Baby Boomers
Hello readers!
You’ve gotten a glimpse of my writing style and personal opinions through my past posts so far. Thank you for following me and listening to my unique perspective. And thank you for your patience as I have had to navigate some personal circumstances that have delayed putting out some of my latest posts.
As Baby Boomers, we have lived through significant changes and challenges throughout our lives. However, the current climate of uncertainty and unrest raises new concerns for our generation and our families. In my view, though it seems as if I’m beating a dead horse by saying it over and over, it's essential to understand the importance of freedom and the threats of tyranny that are lurking around the corner.
As you can see from several previous posts, my foundation and reason for starting this whole Substack has been the underlying theme of freedom, however cliché that may sound. In this post, let’s look at some key issues that Baby Boomers need to be aware of to protect their freedom, homes, and families:
Recognizing the Importance of Freedom: Freedom is a fundamental human right that allows us to make choices, express ourselves, and pursue our dreams. As Baby Boomers, we have experienced the power of freedom throughout our lives, and it's crucial to preserve it for future generations. We need to actively guard our freedom and resist any attempts to undermine it, however we are able.
Identifying Signs of Tyranny: Tyranny can manifest in various forms, including the overt forms of oppressive governments, surveillance, censorship, and the erosion of individual rights. However, there are also perhaps more subtle forms that we can experience, such as fear and divisiveness put out by the media and the government through telling a particular narrative, as well as endless regulations put out by government agencies, federal or state, that presume to be for our “safety.” As Baby Boomers, it's essential to be vigilant and recognize all signs of tyranny, big or small. As I’ll outline further below, we must stay informed about current events, engage in open discussions, and support organizations that promote transparency and accountability, as well as independent media actively searching for the truth.
Taking Action to Protect Freedom: To protect our freedom and resist tyranny, Baby Boomers can take several proactive steps. These include:
Staying informed: As I mentioned earlier, keeping up to date with current events and news, both local and global, is paramount. This will help you identify potential threats to your freedom and take appropriate action where you can.
Engaging in open discussions: Foster open and honest conversations with friends, family, and community members to share ideas and concerns about the state of freedom in our society, as well as specific concerns happening in our local and state governments. Ask questions to gauge understanding by others to see if they recognize the seriousness of what is happening in our country and in the world. Check their openness, if necessary, to an alternative point of view among your more “progressive” friends and family. Finally, keep in mind that not everyone is going to be receptive to what you have to say, and that’s okay. It’s best to plant a seed and let God do the rest.
Supporting organizations that promote freedom: Seek out and support organizations, both local and national, that advocate for individual rights, transparency, and accountability, such as patriot and freedom groups of various types, and also including lesser known social media platforms to give them your support for free speech.
Voting and participating in the political process: Exercise your right to vote and participate in the political process to ensure that your voice is heard and that your interests are represented. Though it seems to be a futile act at times, in a civil society it is the only real way to effect change, albeit putting up with the frustratingly slow process that it is.
Financial Concerns and Freedom: As a Baby Boomer myself and a financial professional, I have to emphasize that our financial well-being is essential for maintaining our independence and quality of life. To protect your financial freedom, consider the following steps:
Diversify your investments: Spread your investments across various asset classes to minimize risk and maximize potential returns.
Be wary of government overreach: To reiterate again, stay informed about government policies and regulations that may affect your financial freedom, such as increased taxes or restrictions on investment opportunities.
Stay informed about economic trends: Keep up to date with economic news and trends to make informed financial decisions and protect your wealth.
Protect your family and your legacy by having life insurance with living benefits to cover critical, chronic or terminal illness. If interested in exploring your options, book an appointment here.
Attack debt head on, to not only give yourself peace of mind, but to not be enslaved to it anymore. Debt is the number one cause of a lower standard of living for Baby Boomers, and medical debt can certainly contribute to that in particular. If you’d like to learn about a unique program that enables you to pay off debt in 1/2 to 1/3 the time without restructuring loans or changing your lifestyle, book an education appointment here.
Medical Freedom: As Baby Boomers, our health and well-being are crucial. Medical freedom allows us to make informed decisions about our healthcare and seek alternative treatments if desired. It is also linked to our social freedom and economic freedom. Consider the following steps to protect this most precious of all freedoms, your bodily autonomy:
Stay informed about healthcare policies and legislation: Keep up to date with local and national healthcare policies and advocate for measures that promote individual choice and autonomy.
Support organizations that promote medical freedom: As I’ve stated emphatically, seek out and support organizations that advocate for individual rights and choice in healthcare, as well as choose healthcare providers that respect this right wherever possible.
Engage in open discussions about health and wellness: Share your experiences and concerns about healthcare with friends, family, and community members to raise awareness and promote informed decision-making. Again, you will not convince everyone, but you can at least plant a seed by activating a critical thinking process, if nothing else.
Going Local and Knowing Your Community: Building strong local communities is essential for protecting our freedom and resisting tyranny. It all starts on the local level, above all else. By getting involved with local organizations, businesses, and initiatives, you can strengthen your social connections and promote individual rights. To go local and know your community, consider the following:
Support local businesses: Shop at local stores and restaurants to strengthen the local economy and promote community resilience.
Participate in community events and organizations: Attend local events, join community groups, and volunteer your time to build connections and support local initiatives. Also, be sure to stay informed about local happenings and issues that can affect your freedom.
MOST IMPORTANTLY: Find a faith community whose members believe as you do, and whose pastor isn’t afraid to speak out against evil. The quote below sums it up best. The church needs to wake up!

It is well past time for Christians, particularly Christian leaders, to recognize this. You have enemies. You have enemies that want you and your children dead. You have enemies you need to fight. Your desire to “win them over” through niceness is a weapon they wield against you. They manipulate your desire to avoid conflict. They know that you are terrified of offending anyone since that will negatively affect church attendance. And so they have rolled over you, they have destroyed your culture, and have now made you a pariah in your own country. You are not going to winsome your way out of this. You can choose to remain silent out of cowardice, or you can begin to fight an evil ideology that could not be in more stark rebellion against the Creator of Heaven and Earth.
You need to be preparing your schools, churches, homes, and selves for this spiritual war. You need to have a plan in place. You need to have men willing to protect your people with force. You need to be physically able to protect your family. You need to be getting in better shape. You will notice the two police officers who dispatched the trans terrorist did not have dad bods. Hard times are here. It is no time for soft men. And lest you think this is an unprecedented time in the history of the church, it is not.
We, as an older (and hopefully wiser) generation, have a responsibility to protect our freedom, resist the threats of tyranny, and teach the younger generations, who are living with less freedom than we did at their age. Remember, freedom is a precious gift, given only by God, and NOT the government. As we near Flag Day on June 14th and subsequently, our nation’s Independence Day, I pray we will cherish our freedom and not take it for granted. I’m probably preaching to the choir, but it is a message I’ll gladly repeat over and over to those who will listen.
See you next week!
